Shift Your Mindset and Empower Yourself Through Yoga Nidra

Have you ever wanted to be the best version...

Have you ever wanted to be the best version of yourself but failed to reach the goal because you didn’t know how? Relax. You are not alone. Many people struggle to realize their full potential. Not for lack of trying, but for lack of knowledge. Here’s a suggestion: take a look at yoga nidra.

There are as many different paths to being the best version of oneself as there are people looking to get there. Yoga nidra is the path chosen by yoga nidra expert and sleep meditation teacher Scott Moore.

Moore describes yoga nidra as a form of yoga that relies heavily on a combination of relaxation, self-awareness, and intentional goal setting. It’s not simply about doing something. It is also about understanding the ‘why’ in relation to a practitioner’s inner self. Its ability to shift mindsets and empower people is rooted in three principles.

1. Overcoming Limiting Beliefs

We all have a core set of beliefs that constitute the framework of how we think. Whether those beliefs are religious, philosophical, etc. is not as important as the fact that they can be limiting. Yoga nidra leverages guided meditative relaxation to lead a practitioner into an enhanced conscious state.

In this state, the mind is less resistant to the unknown. Old habits and limiting beliefs, which are often buried deeply in the subconscious, can be brought to the surface for recognition and processing.

Yoga nidra also leverages sankalpa and pattern rewriting to overcome limiting beliefs. Sankalpa is the practice of establishing a positive affirmation or intention with each yoga session. Pattern rewriting is the process of challenging negative self-perceptions so that they can be gradually replaced by empowering beliefs.

2. Increasing Self-Confidence

Yoga nidra helps empower practitioners by increasing self-confidence. Improved self-confidence starts by becoming more self-unaware. This is accomplished through mindfulness and body scans.

As a practitioner becomes more self-aware, it is easier to achieve the profound relaxation yoga nidra is known for. With relaxation comes less stress and anxiety along with the ability to regulate one’s emotions more effectively. Finally, emotional regulation encourages personal empowerment through intention.

The continual reinforcement of a practitioner’s sankalpa is what eventually leads to a permanent mindset shift. But it does take time.

3. Cultivating the Abundant Mindset

As a practitioner’s mindset shifts from negative to positive, the yoga nidra guide is able to lead that person to an abundant mindset. Yoga nidra encourages one to let go of scarcity. In other words, the practitioner is encouraged to release negative and limiting thoughts rooted in fear, anxiety, and the unknown.

Thoughts of scarcity are replaced by gratitude and positivity. A practitioner is encouraged to focus on being grateful for everything that is good. They are encouraged to internalize a sense of fullness and abundance rather than continually going back to the previous mindset of lack.

Over time, cultivating the abundant mindset takes advantage of something known as neuroplasticity. In other words, yoga nidra’s positive effects encourage a neuroplastic change in the brain, a change that leads a person to think in terms of positivity and abundance rather than negativity and scarcity.

Give Yoga Nidra a Try

All of this might seem like mumbo jumbo to you, but it has worked for Scott Moore and untold numbers of his fellow yoga nidra practitioners the world over. The practice has been around for generations.

If you truly want to be the best version of yourself but all your previous attempts to get there have failed, give yoga nidra a try. It might be the solution you have been looking for.
